Four-time world champion Max Verstappen caused a stir in the motorsport community by testing a Ferrari at the Nurburgring Nordschleife last weekend. Haas team boss Ayao Komatsu made it clear that his team’s drivers won’t be following Verstappen’s example. Verstappen used the pseudonym “Franz Hermann” to test a Ferrari 296 GT3, raising eyebrows in the process. Even though the test was not a secret due to his distinctive livery, rumors of record-breaking laps created interest. Komatsu emphasized that drivers like Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon won’t be permitted to engage in similar activities, citing their focus on F1 responsibilities. Times have changed, and the demands on F1 drivers have increased, making it challenging to balance extracurricular racing activities.
